Helping adults overcome anxiety, overthinking, people-pleasing and low self-esteem . Face to Face and online across the UK

Hello, I'm Gabi, and thank you for visiting.
I'm a counsellor, psychotherapist and BWRT practitioner based in Nailsworth, Gloucestershire. I offer face-to-face therapy in Nailsworth and online sessions across the UK.
I've always been fascinated by people. Long before I trained as a counsellor and psychotherapist, I found myself wondering what makes people tick.
Why do we respond differently to the same situations? How do our experiences shape us? And why do so many of us spend years being kinder to everyone else than we are to ourselves?
That curiosity led me to become a therapist, but it's the privilege of walking alongside people as they begin to understand themselves that keeps me passionate about the work I do.
One thing I've noticed over the years is how many people apologise when they first come to therapy.
"I'm sorry, I'm talking too much."
"I'm sorry, this probably sounds silly."
"I'm sorry... I don't even know where to start."
Every time I hear those words, I'm reminded how many of us have learnt to shrink ourselves. To worry about taking up too much space. To believe our feelings are a burden or that we need to have everything figured out before we're allowed to ask for support.
The truth is, you don't.
Many of the people who come to see me are kind, thoughtful people who have spent years putting everyone else first. They worry about disappointing people, find it difficult to say no, overthink conversations and often feel they're never quite enough. From the outside they appear to be coping, but inside they're exhausted.
If that sounds familiar, you're not alone.
I don't believe people come to therapy because they're broken. More often, they've spent years coping in the best way they knew how. Perhaps they've learnt to put everyone else's needs before their own, avoid conflict, question their worth, or carry painful experiences in silence. Those ways of coping often made sense at the time, but over the years they can leave us feeling anxious, overwhelmed or disconnected from ourselves.
My hope is that therapy helps you feel safer in yourself and in the world around you. That you leave with a greater understanding of who you are, what you need, what matters to you, and the confidence to say yes to the things that feel right and no to the things that don't.
Over the years, my work has naturally led me to support people experiencing anxiety, low self-worth, relationship difficulties and the challenges of setting healthy boundaries. I've also completed specialist training in supporting individuals and couples affected by pregnancy loss, baby loss and infertility, and I have experience supporting unpaid carers, understanding the unique emotional impact that caring for someone else can have.
Whether you've had therapy before or this is your first time, we'll work at a pace that feels right for you.
I know that reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, and it is completely normal to feel unsure about where to begin. You don't need to have everything worked out before making contact.
I welcome both self-funding clients and those accessing therapy through private health insurance, and I offer a discounted rate for clients referred through Carers Hub.
If you're thinking about starting therapy, I'd love to offer you a free initial consultation so we can explore whether I'm the right therapist for you.
